Call for Paper- The 2013 Proceedings

If you have already presented your paper/poster on Friday March 22 and/or Saturday 23, 2013 at the 8th TRU Undergraduate Research & Innovation Conference, and would like to submit your paper to be considered for publication for the 2013 Proceedings, please send us your final draft as a Microsoft Word document to the following email:

All types of papers are considered including research, creative writing, book review, etc. However, your paper must be written for publication purposes, which would typically mean it should include the following sections:

  • Abstract, no more than 300 words.
  • Introduction, which includes the objective(s) of your research and a short description of your research
  • Literature Review of previous similar research done in the literature, if relevant
  • Methodology or Experiments- if applicable you need to explain your model or experiment in more details.
  • Results, including the empirical results or findings
  • Conclusions and Recommendations
  • Future Possible Research; this is your opportunity to explain what possible direction(s) additional research may take
  • References
  • Appendices

We also accept alternative formats with different sections for Book Review, Creative Writing, and other special manuscript.

The first page of your manuscript must include Student name, Disciple, Division, Name of supervisor, and Date. This separate page will be removed before sending the paper to the anonymous referee.

All submitted papers MUST have already been approved by at least one TRU faculty. This will be done by adding the faculty name, office phone number, and email address on the first page of your paper. The Editorial Board will contact the faculty. The name of the faculty must be added as SUPERVISOR along with her/his affiliation (Faculty/School/Department) on the cover page of your submission

The author(s) must be the owner of the copyright and be entitled to sign the copyright agreement if necessary. In submitting an article, the author(s) comply with the copyright conditions.

We accept only papers that are not more than 10 pages, excluding references and graphs. All graphs and pictures must be prepared in a separate word document with a note indicating page number where the graph or picture must be inserted. Your manuscript must be double spaced.

All submitted papers will undergo a review process by at least one anonymous referee from the same discipline. Students must revise and resubmit their papers to address the anonymous referee concerns/comments.

Similar to last year, once the final versions of all submitted papers have been selected and approved; students’ names will be added to a draw for a chance to win one of two iPad mini or similar prizes, depending on the number of submitted papers.
